Become the fastest version of yourself
The result of several years of development, computational simulations, aerodynamic optimisation, real-world testing and continuous iteration, the new Fraxion X pushes the boundaries of road performance. Every line, every tube profile and every layer of carbon has been designed to transform power into speed.
Following the Fraxion GTR, an aero road bike renowned for its balance of efficiency and versatility, Origine is taking another step forward. More aerodynamic. Faster. More radical. The Fraxion X is not an evolution of the GTR. It is a new vision of performance.
Real-world speed is the only speed that matters
In cycling, marketing claims based on watts measured under standardised conditions at 50 km/h, with a constant, perfectly aligned wind and no rider movement can distract us from what really matters: where performance actually comes from.
The reality is a road that is constantly changing. A shifting wind. An acceleration over the top of a climb. Exiting a corner. A sprint for the town sign. A descent on uneven roads.
It is this reality that guided the development of the Fraxion X. We did not simply want to design the fastest bike in a simulation. We wanted to create a bike that is fast in real life. A bike where every acceleration delivers an immediate sensation of speed. A bike whose weight simply disappears beneath you.
Because speed cannot be reduced to a number. It is an exhilarating sensation that makes you want to get back out and ride again.
Advanced in-house R&D
The entire frameset was optimised through extensive CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), allowing us to refine every detail and simulate the bike’s aerodynamic wake before the first prototypes were even manufactured. 3D printing was used to validate the initial concepts before moving on to the prototyping stages. Iterations of the carbon layups allowed us to refine every area of the frame, bringing together engineering data and feedback from our athletes to achieve the perfect balance the equilibrium that brings the bike to life.
The result is a completely redesigned frame offering:
- 11% greater stiffness at the head tube and 16% at the bottom bracket
- 5% weight reduction for the frame, despite the more aerodynamic tube profiles
- 15 watts of aerodynamic savings at 40 km/h
- Improved efficiency during accelerations and changes of pace
- Outstanding precision through corners, making it an excellent descender as well
A complete system
The Fraxion X was never conceived as a collection of individual components. It was designed as a complete system. The frame, fork and cockpit were developed together so that each element enhances the performance of the others.
The AeroFlow Cockpit is one of the key elements. Although the Fraxion X was ready to launch a year ago, we chose to continue developing this technology to deliver total performance. As the first point of contact with the airflow at the front of the bike, the cockpit has a direct influence on how the air flows around the bike.
AeroFlow Cockpit
The proprietary, fully integrated Prymahl cockpit forms a natural extension of the frame. Its design creates a seamless transition with the head tube and top tube, guiding the airflow cleanly around the bike.
Available in 45 combinations of width, length and rise, it offers a high level of adjustability. This allows every rider to maintain a position that is perfectly suited to their body shape and preferred riding position.
Head tube
The new head tube features a deeper profile developed from the latest advances in aerodynamic research. Its shape guides the airflow around the frame to create smooth, laminar airflow.
It also incorporates the cockpit mounting system, creating a continuous line and a profile that is both exceptionally clean and highly efficient.
Fork
Completely redesigned, the fork features deeper profiles and increased clearance. Its leading edge has been redesigned to cut efficiently through the air. Its slim, deep profile draws inspiration from aerospace design.
Its increased width helps reduce airflow disruption around the front wheel and the rider’s legs. The new fork also improves stability at high speeds.
Seat tube
The seat tube closely follows the rear wheel to maintain clean airflow. The frame and rear wheel work together as a single, continuous aerodynamic shape.
The Kammtail profile of the seat tube helps maintain smooth airflow throughout the rear section of the bike.
Seat stays
The lowered and shortened seat stays improve power transfer, particularly during accelerations, delivering outstanding responsiveness and efficiency.
Their geometry also contributes to the bike’s aerodynamic performance, with their horizontal positioning helping to reduce drag.
Finally, they play an important role in filtering vibrations, helping to maintain efficiency and comfort over longer rides.
Seatpost
The new Prymahl seatpost features a Kammtail profile. Its slimmer design simultaneously optimises aerodynamics, stiffness and vertical compliance.
SmartLay Carbon Layup: the secret recipe
Performance is about more than aerodynamics. The Fraxion X benefits from new carbon layups developed specifically to meet the demands of high-performance riding.
The fibre architecture optimises stiffness around the bottom bracket and head tube to provide immediate power transfer, while the seat stays retain controlled vertical compliance to help reduce rider fatigue. It is in this behind-the-scenes engineering, at an exceptionally high level of technical expertise and impossible to capture in a marketing figure, that Origine’s know-how makes the difference.
Our engineers draw on their expertise to carefully select different types of high-modulus carbon fibre according to their properties in terms of stiffness, weight and ability to deform. The fibres are then positioned in precise orientations, with careful consideration given to the various layers, ensuring the rider’s power is transferred with minimal loss.
Finally, advanced compaction and moulding techniques ensure a flawless result, both technically and aesthetically, while optimising weight and eliminating unnecessary material.
Two carbon fibre options: Core and Lite, plus the ultimate RR version
The Fraxion X is available with two different carbon fibre options: Core and Lite. Both use the same frame design and deliver the same aerodynamic gains, but the choice of fibre affects both the weight and the ride characteristics.
The Core fibre delivers high performance with a degree of compliance, making it particularly well suited to Granfondo riding, for example. The Lite fibre, meanwhile, saves 150 grams on the frameset. It also delivers a more responsive feel during accelerations and changes of pace. It is the choice for competitive riders.
Choosing your carbon fibre therefore represents the ultimate level of customisation offered by Origine.
For those looking to take everything to the maximum, Origine also offers an RR version. Going beyond the Lite fibre, this top-of-the-range specification features ceramic bearings, titanium hardware, ultralight axles, a lightweight expander and a lighter seatpost clamp, all designed to save every possible gram.
This ultimate version is available exclusively with the highest-end components, allowing for a complete build weighing as little as 6.60 kg (with SRAM Red and DT Swiss ARC 1100 wheels).
Naturally, it is this RR version that professional riders will race in 2027.
The Fraxion X therefore ranks among the lightest aero road bikes on the market, establishing itself as a benchmark for riders looking for an aerodynamic bike that can rival the weight of some ultra-light machines.
Developed and validated in collaboration with professionals
The Fraxion X is the result of a development process in which laboratory testing never replaced real-world testing.
- CFD analyses enabled us to explore hundreds of variants.
- Finite element calculations optimised stiffness.
- Mechanical tests validated the assumptions.
- Then came the kilometres. Again and again.
- Each prototype was put back on the road.
- Modified. Refined. Tested again.
This high-performance iterative process between engineers and professional cyclists has pushed performance to unprecedented levels. Every decision is the result of technical choices validated by real-world experience on the road. Until we achieved a bike that doesn’t just aim to reduce drag, but delivers that rare sensation of always being able to accelerate. A bike whose ride feel matches the gains achieved in the lab.
“From the first few kilometres, I immediately noticed how good the new Fraxion X felt. It is particularly responsive when accelerating, extremely fast on flatter sections and remarkably stable through corners, thanks to a rear end that provides excellent support. Its stiffness, combined with a 300 g weight saving, allows you to carry more speed without having to put in more effort, with a very noticeable benefit on climbs. During a 155 km ride with 2,000 m of elevation gain, I even took back a KOM while producing 23 W less than I did on the Fraxion GTR, under similar conditions. It is a more capable, more efficient bike, while remaining comfortable with an appropriate build,” explains one of our testers, who competes in the professional peloton.
The bike is, naturally, UCI-approved. It has already been spotted on the professional circuit and will equip all Origine-sponsored teams for the 2027 season, in its Fraxion X RR specification.
Evolution down to the smallest details
The Fraxion X’s pursuit of performance does not stop with its aerodynamics or carbon layup. Every detail of the frame has been reconsidered to optimise integration, reliability and the rider experience.
The Shimano Di2 battery is now housed inside the down tube. This technical choice completely frees up the seatpost, allowing its profile to be significantly slimmer in order to reduce aerodynamic drag while increasing its ability to flex vertically, improving comfort.
Positioning the battery centrally and as low as possible also improves weight distribution, lowering the centre of gravity as much as possible.
At the front, a steering limiter incorporating a polyurethane damper restricts steering rotation to 140°, effectively protecting the frame and cockpit in all situations without compromising steering smoothness.
The fully proprietary seatpost clamp is discreetly integrated into the side of the frame, contributing to the Fraxion X’s clean aesthetic while ensuring secure clamping and simplified maintenance.
Designed for the most demanding conditions, the frame also incorporates an anti-chain suck protection tab, protecting the carbon fibres from damage caused by chain derailment under high load.
Electronic or mechanical: the choice is yours
The Fraxion X is compatible with both electronic and mechanical drivetrains. This gives every rider complete freedom when choosing their specification, without imposing a single standard.
