Origine is joining the professional women’s peloton alongside Ma Petite Entreprise

Already involved in the men’s professional road cycling and mountain biking circuits, Origine is taking a new step forward by becoming the bike partner of the women’s UCI ProTeam, Ma Petite Entreprise.

The team’s riders will compete on the Fraxion X RR, the brand’s ultimate aero road bike, at major events, with the aim of taking part in Paris–Roubaix and the Tour de France Femmes.

About Ma Petite Entreprise

Ma Petite Entreprise (MPE) is a French cycling team that brings together entrepreneurs around shared values: performance, perseverance and team spirit. The project aims to promote French entrepreneurship through elite cycling, starting with a women’s team. Supported by a network of committed entrepreneurs and partners, MPE is based on an innovative business model combining entrepreneurial funding and brand development. Beyond sporting achievements, the project is committed to training athletes and preparing them for a career change. MPE’s ambition is to fly the flag for French entrepreneurship, both on the roads and in society.

A team and a brand that are shaking up the status quo

Ma Petite Entreprise (MPE) is a French professional cycling team built around a unique business model. The principle is simple: any business – from large corporations to micro-enterprises and SMEs, or even individuals – can contribute to the funding of the professional team. In return, they join a collective that benefits from the visibility offered by cycling and major competitions.

The team thus aims to:

  • Promote the French entrepreneurial spirit
  • Give smaller organisations access to a large network of businesses, whilst also benefiting from special offers.
  • Develop professional women’s cycling.
  • Gradually build a sustainable sporting project, with the ambition of subsequently establishing a men’s team.
  • Support athletes in preparing for life after their careers, by enabling them to explore career opportunities within partner companies.

Origine, in line with this same philosophy of breaking completely with established models, is a French bicycle brand that is shaking up the traditional norms of bicycle distribution and manufacturing. Its business model is based on direct sales, without intermediaries, and on made-to-order production. No bicycles are pre-assembled for stock. Instead, Origine brings together tens of thousands of components in its factory, after which each bicycle is hand-painted and assembled specifically to the owner’s order.

This approach offers a unique experience, based on personalisation and control over the manufacturing process. Customers configure their bikes according to their preferences, body type and budget. They choose the components and finish, including a bespoke paint job.

The partnership between Origine and MPE therefore makes perfect sense. On the one hand, there is a brand that challenges the norms of the retail sector by offering bespoke bikes, built to order. On the other, there is a team that is rethinking the funding of professional cycling by bringing together companies of all sizes. Both share a desire to offer an alternative model, where flexibility, independence and collective commitment take precedence over the norm.

A partnership based on proximity and development

Origine has built its approach to elite sport on close ties with athletes, real-world testing and the co-development of products under real-world conditions. The professional women’s peloton demands an international calendar, a high level of sporting intensity and extremely demanding routes. This pushes the boundaries and accelerates the development of ever more high-performance bikes.

Both organisations share this same attention to detail and the same culture of performance. Feedback from the riders and the technical staff will inform the development of Origine’s products, whilst adhering to a controlled business model that remains true to the brand’s values.

“Ma Petite Entreprise was born out of a conviction: the boldness and expertise of French entrepreneurs can take a sporting project to the very highest level. Origine perfectly embodies this spirit. It is a brand that has dared to challenge the status quo, that innovates and that designs its bikes in France. We want to offer our female riders the very best in technology. We are delighted to be entering into a long-term partnership with a partner who shares our commitment to performance.”

 Vincent Lavenu, Sports Manager

“We share with Ma Petite Entreprise the boldness to challenge established norms and make performance accessible in new ways. This partnership is a natural fit: it allows us to support the development of women’s cycling whilst accelerating the R&D of our products through direct engagement with the riders. We are proud to contribute to their ambitions in the biggest races on the calendar.”

Origine: bikes 100% tailored to women

Simply changing the colour scheme or tweaking the marketing pitch does not make a bike a women’s road bike. At Origine, we’ve taken a different approach. No ‘Women’s’ marketing range, no scaled-down versions of men’s models. Every bike in the range is designed and configured to suit the body shape and riding style of the woman who will be riding it.

Origine offers a range fully tailored to every cyclist, across its entire range and at every price point:

  • All body types: sizes from XS to XL for riders from 1.50m to 2.00m tall, with a riding position analysis and a fit guarantee.
  • A customisable cockpit: the Fraxion X’s integrated cockpit, for example, is available in 45 combinations of width, length and height.
  • A range of saddles designed specifically for women, integrated into the configurator.
  • Customisable colours: with Colors On Demand®, every cyclist can choose any RAL colour or manufacturer’s colour code at no extra cost.

An Origine bike adapts to the cyclist, never the other way round. This applies to women as well as men, from professional racers to those new to road cycling.

Fraxion X RR: the women’s racing bike for 2027

Female riders will compete on the Fraxion X RR, the ultimate version of Origine’s aero road bike. Its development combines aerodynamic engineering, lightness and stiffness to meet the demands of competition.

This RR version takes the quest for lighter weight a step further thanks to specific components, notably titanium bolts and parts optimised to minimise mass. The Fraxion X RR can weigh as little as 6.60 kg (without pedals) in its lightest configuration.

Prymahl Orion C48X: aerodynamics and efficiency

The bikes will be fitted with Prymahl Orion C48X wheels, 48 mm-profile carbon wheels designed for speed and efficiency. Weighing 1,295 g per pair, they feature Straight Pull carbon spokes – 40 per cent lighter than stainless steel spokes – as well as an X-series hub fitted with a ratchet mechanism, ensuring instant engagement.

The combination aims to blend lightness, stiffness and efficient power transfer, to enhance responsiveness during accelerations and sprints. Their tubeless design, with hooked rims, allows riders to enjoy the benefits of a tubeless setup whilst maintaining mechanical tyre retention.

The combination of the Fraxion X RR and the Orion C48X thus brings together two complementary approaches to performance: aerodynamic optimisation of the bike and the pursuit of efficiency in the wheels.

A configuration tailored to female riders

The final configuration will incorporate the components selected for the team: drivetrain, tyres, saddle and handlebar set-up. Thanks to the adjustment options offered by the AeroFlow cockpit, the riding position can be tailored to each rider’s body type.

This approach builds on Origine’s philosophy: choosing a configuration that aligns with each rider’s needs, without imposing a standard build.

    • Frame: Fraxion X, Lite carbon
    • Handlebar: Prymahl AeroFlow
    • Drivetrain: Shimano Dura-Ace Di2
    • Wheels: Prymahl Orion C48X
    • Tyres: Hutchinson Blackbird

Each of the team’s Fraxion X RR bikes is customised to suit each rider’s body shape and preferences.

Aiming for the Tour de France Femmes and the major women’s cycling races

For the 2027 season, the team has set its sights on the biggest events on the calendar, including an invitation to the Tour de France Femmes and Paris–Roubaix. Having already shone at the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, securing the polka-dot jersey and consistently featuring at the front of the race, the team will be keen to recapture the excitement of the Tour.
