Origine new cycling clothing range

After more than 2 years of development, we are proud to introduce the Origine textile range. With a clear vision of our future collection, we challenged the top European manufacturers, and these numerous exchanges took months, even years.

Just like with our bikes, we designed this collection with a focus on the technical aspects of the materials used. Every piece underwent a rigorous and meticulous selection process, from the materials to the options and the cut. Today, we present the first building block of a collection worthy of the most advanced textile brands on the market, always guided by the same principles: comfort, performance, inclusion, and reliability. We have developed two collections for summer: a road cycling range and a Gravel/Ultradistance range.

Women/Men

2 Technologies, 2 Fits but One Style

At Origine, there is no distinction between Women and Men – everyone deserves the same technology and the same products. Therefore, all products, without exception, are available in both Men’s and Women’s versions with identical design and options. The fits, inserts, and cuts of the bib shorts have been specifically designed for both women and men.

Standard Fits

Cycling clothing often poses a challenge when it comes to finding the right size. What works for one brand might not work for another; one day you’re a Medium, the next it’s an XXL. We decided to base our sizing reference on your everyday clothing. In the world of cycling apparel, this is so uncommon that it took 9 months of prototyping with nearly as many back-and-forth adjustments to achieve the fit we wanted. If you wear M-sized T-shirts or sweaters, you’ll be an M in Origine clothing – no need for confusing size conversions.

Cyclosport Range

A range dedicated to performance, allowing you to spend hours in the saddle with comfort and ease. The jersey, available in two colors, is made from an Italian thermoregulating fabric that comes from a recycling process. In terms of construction, the sleeves and torso are laser-cut and assembled with a YKK zipper. On the back, there are three pockets with reflective stitching and an additional waterproof zipped pocket.

We’ve paired this jersey with bib shorts also made from Italian fabric with laser-cut edges. This fabric absorbs the variations in thigh volume during effort to ensure consistent support regardless of weather conditions or physical state. For the inserts, we opted for the absolute reference with an Elastic Interface pad for optimal comfort. Of course, the inserts and cuts are specific to women and men. Finally, these bib shorts feature ultra-light straps that do not retain sweat and include a small back pocket.

Gravel/Ultradistance Range

In gravel and ultradistance, clothing is put to the test with multiple manipulations, vegetation you might get caught on, and hours of sweat. For these reasons, we selected a fabric that is abrasion-resistant without sacrificing comfort and thermoregulation. Another challenge in these endurance disciplines is being able to ride from dawn to dusk, through the zenith, without having to change every two hours. The fabric we selected provides a slight windproof effect during cooler phases and real regulation in the heat (we tested this jersey over 1500km in 45-degree heat during last spring’s heatwave in India).

The gravel jersey is assembled with three back pockets designed to hold 500ml trail flasks, a waterproof zipped pocket, and an additional mesh pocket with reflective stitching.

The ultra jersey is built with these same three back pockets, along with a zipped pocket, a mesh over-pocket, and an additional chest pocket (ideal for storing energy bars). This ultra jersey also features reflective bands on the sleeves, integrated within the seams.

For the bib shorts, we selected the same fabric as the road bib shorts; during long rides, thigh volume variation is even more significant, so this fabric ensures the same level of support in all conditions. In terms of construction, these bib shorts feature a back pocket and two thigh mesh pockets with reflective stitching. Like our road model, the straps are ultra-light to avoid retaining sweat. We selected a specific Elastic Interface endurance pad for both women and men.

Mid-Season Jersey

As the name suggests, our mid-season jersey is a long-sleeve jersey designed for riding when conditions change and the alternation between shade, sun, and overcast skies causes temperature fluctuations. This long-sleeve jersey is made from a brushed fiber fabric on the inside to ensure good heat retention and sweat wicking. This means no cold sensations with sweat freezing your chest when you hit a shaded descent. This jersey features three back pockets and a waterproof zipped pocket. And like the rest of the range, the closure is secured with a YKK zipper with an internal flap to prevent air from entering through the zipper.
